Lunar New Year 2009 Announcement

Please join Buu Mon Buddhist Temple for our 2009 Lunar New Year Celebration.  This year’s celebration will begin Sunday, January 25th at 12 o’clock midnight in the temples main sanctuary at 2701 Procter Street, Port Arthur, Texas to ring in the “Year of the Ox” on Monday, January 26th, 2009.  The Yellow Lion and Dragon dance troupe will perform. The midnight celebration will also consist of cultural folk dances, speeches by honored community officials and venerable monks. The celebration will close with individual blessings from the venerable monks.

Individuals who are influenced by this sign are born in the years of 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009.

Those born under the influence of the Ox or Buffalo are fortunate to be stable and persevering.  The typical Ox is a tolerant person with strong character.  Not many people could equal the resolution and fearlessness that the Ox exhibits when deciding to accomplish a task.  Ox people work hard without complaints at work or at home.  They know that they will succeed through hard work and sustained efforts, and do not believe in get-rich-quick schemes.  They are most compatible with Snake, Rooster, and Rat people.
